Denver-based Smokin Bear, LLC /Timberline. currently has more than 25 years experience in airport restaurant operations, specializing in full-service dining. Smokin Bear is on a mission to deliver high-quality food and dining with environmental sustainability. We are currently seeking the best of Denver's Line Cooks for our high volume restaurant within Denver International Airport. There are Full Time as well as Part Time positions available for an immediate interview and start.

Position Summary:
Line Cook’s major responsibility is to prepare food, help the kitchen workers in the preparation of food items, and set up allocated stations as instructed by Chef and compliant with standards. Line cooks are usually responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare a menu for service
Prepare a variety of foods; meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
Arrange sauces and supplementary garnishes for allocated station
Cover, date and correctly store all bits and pieces and food prep items
Notify Chef in advance of likely shortages
Serve menu items compliant with established standards
Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufacturers instructions
Close the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
Keep the work area fresh all through the shift
Make sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately
Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices
Returns dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas
Assist with all duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager

Prior cooking experience
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry’s best practices
Culinary school diploma, or prior work experience
Skills and Abilities

Required education:

High school or equivalent
